Friendship falls to Hendersonville 5-4 in bottom of 7th inning

HENDERSONVILLE — Hendersonville scored in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday to beat Friendship Christian 5-4 at Drakes Creek Park.
Stephen Nolan recorded one out in the seventh as the Class AAA Commandos put together three hits to drop the Class A Commanders to 4-7.
Starter Cody Searcey allowed four runs [two earned] on three hits and five walks while striking out nine in six innings. The Commanders committed six errors behind him.
G.L. Waynick drove in two runs on as many doubles for Friendship. Brian Cravens and Lee Maasen each had two of the Commanders' nine hits.
Friendship grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning before the Commandos stormed in front 3-2 in the fourth. The Commanders tied the score in the fifth before Hendersonville regained the lead in the sixth. FCS re-tied the count in the top of the seventh.
The Commanders will return to District 8-A action Thursday when they go to Hartsville for a 4 p.m. game at Trousdale County.
