Friendship girls crush Cascade

WATERTOWN - The Lady Commanders of Friendship Christian dominated Cascade to earn a 60-38 victory in the Watertown Chamber of Commerce Christmas Classic Saturday.
"I'm very proud of them," Friendship Christian coach Deanna Teeter said after her team moved to 3-2 for the season.
The Lady Commanders showed plenty of offense and held a 12 point lead going into the locker room at halftime, 33-21. Cascade never recovered from the onslaught and the third period came to a close with Friendship leading 45-27.
"They came out and hustled and played well," Teeter added.
Carly Warmath led the charge with 20 points for Friendship. Lindsey Farmer knocked in 16 points, Katy Vaughan 10, Jessi Couch seven, Sara Hay three and Jody Leftwich and Gabbie Lowe each had two.
Tiffany Gibbs had 12 points to lead Cascade.
The Lady Commanders host Eagleville Thursday.

Mt. Juliet 52, Oakland 66
Mt. Juliet's Lady Bears moved to 10-1 on the season after handing Oakland its first loss 66-52 Saturday in the Blue Devil Classic at Lebanon High School.
Mt. Juliet gained the momentum with a big third quarter effort in which they outscored the Lady Patiots 23-9.
"We played with a lot more intensity the second half," Lady Bear coach Chris Fryer said. "Becca Sharpe did a great job and led us in a rally. She really stepped up."
Oakland maintained the lead throughout the first half, holding a 16-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter and entering the locker room with a six point advantage.
"They shot the ball real well the first half," Fryer noted.
The Lady Patriot's Tara Davis led all scorers with 29 points followed by teammate Sara King with 19.
For the Lady Bears, K.C. Vanatta and Jordan Nixon each put in 16 points, Taylor Hall added 14, Sharpe tossed in nine, Heather Miller eight and Miaca Bowman three.
Mt. Juliet travels to Franklin at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Watertown 51, USN 42
Watertown's Tigerettes defeated University School of Nashville 51-42 in the Watertown Chamber of Commerce Christmas Classic Saturday.
After going down 12-7 by the buzzer in the first quarter, Watertown come out with a purpose in the second and gained the lead 23-19.
University School trailed through the third quarter but regained the lead momentarily in the fourth.
"They took the lead a few minutes into the fourth, but we came back and won it," Watertown coach Jeff Luttrell said. His Tigerettes are now 8-3 on the season.
Miaushia Thompson led with 18 points for Watertown. Brittany Sells tossed in 17 points, Sarah Reeder put in 12, and Laura Clark and Amanda Montgomery added two apiece.
Watertown will be in action Dec. 28 at the Bedford County Christmas Classic.
