Friendship wins two vs. Station Camp

GALLATIN — Passing up the doubles, Friendship Christian's boys used six singles to shut out host Station Camp 6-0 Monday at Vol State.
The Lady Commanders won both doubles matches which proved to be the difference in a 5-3 win.
Doubles winners for Friendship's girls were Paige Watson and Christen Tressler over Caitlin Vest and Kayla Dorris 8-1 and Amanda Ferrell and Ashley Ayub over Aubrey Blake and Ellyn Unger 8-6. Singles winners were Watson over Vest 8-0, Tressler over Dorris 8-0 and Katie Mitchell over Lindsey Butler 8-5 as the Lady Commanders climbed to 10-2.
Station Camp winners were Blake over Ferrell 8-4, Unger over Ayub 8-6 and Kayla Buchanan over Laura Wilson 8-1.
Winners for Friendship's boys were Dillon Bane over Jonathan Gwaltney 8-0, Andrew Neely over Steven Conner 8-0, Hunter Harwell over Greg Thorpe 8-3, Jonathan Huddleston over Michael Bruner 8-3, Michael Smith over Ian Gray 8-2 and Stephen Porter over Roger Starks 8-0 as the Commanders climbed to 11-1.
Friendship will host Merrol Hyde at Coles Ferry Recreation Center at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lady Saints disarm Cannon
MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Christian's girls and Cannon County's boys won by identical 5-2 scores Monday at Charlie Daniels Park.
Singles winners for the Lady Saints were Crystal Harwell over Rachel Young 8-2, Kate Walker over Lindsey Song 8-1 and Cindy Overstreet over Candice Couch 8-3. Doubles winners were Harwell and Overstreet over Young and Couch 8-4 and Walker and Chelsea Mobley over Song and Sheree Fann 8-5.
Lady Lion winners were Fann over Mobley and Marianna Gigante over Hannah Jordan by 8-4 scores.
Singles Winners for Cannon County's boys were Toby Roesch over Josh McKenzie 8-5, Joe Womack over Sam Anderson 8-0 and Michael Hollis over Ben Brescka 8-1. The Lions swept the two doubles matches with Roesch and Jordan Bailey edging McKenzie and Andrew Ziady 8-6 and Womack and Hollis beating Brescka and Caleb Wagler 8-3.
Saints winners were Ziacy over Andy DiMartino 8-0 and Wagler over Jordan Bailey 8-3.
Mt. Juliet Christian will host Station Camp at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Charlie Daniels Park.
