The second annual Every Woman’s Expo set for next month will feature three experts from University Medical Center on women’s health.
According to University Medical Center community and volunteer services director Jeannie Farley, three presenting doctors are on tap for the Oct. 27 event at Lebanon High School. In addition to the hospital, the Every Woman’s Expo is sponsored by First Freedom Bank and held by The Lebanon Democrat.
University Medical Center will have Dr. Alisa Bowerstock and Dr. Clarinda Burton-Shannon on hand to talk about the hospital’s mammography department in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month., along with other women’s health topics.
Dr. Mark G. Kent will also present information on the hospital’s bariatric weight-loss program and its effectiveness.
“We are happy to be participating in the Every Woman’s Expo for the second year,” said Farley. “This is a great opportunity for women to learn more about these important health issues through the University Medical Center and other groups offering seminars throughout the day.”
The expo begins at 9:30 a.m. and will wrap up about 1:30 p.m. in Lebanon High School’s common area and cafeteria.
The event will also feature money-saving seminars from motivational speaker and local coupon expert Ann Haney, specifically on couponing, maximizing savings and living debt-free.
Other seminars and activities will be held simultaneously, including Zumba, dance, self-defense and karate demonstrations.
The event will be at Lebanon High School and benefit the Lebanon High School cheerleaders.
Cheer coach Amanda Hargis said the money raised would be used for mats and to fund trips to competitions.
