MT. JULIET – Ghouls and goblins will mingle with Batman, tiny Tinkerbells and many monsters Saturday at the 12th annual Halloween in the Park at Charlie Daniels Park.

Trick-or-treaters of all ages are invited to converge at the park for the celebration that is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The city of Mt. Juliet holds the event annually. Event Coordinator Tim Henson said children can receive candy from more than 70 venders.

"This is by far the most popular event we have at the park," he said.

Last year, more than 6,500 people came dressed in a myriad of costumes to fill their goody bags with candy donated by venders who set up tents across the park.

Henson said there will be a costume contest for newborns up to 17 year olds, as well as a version for pets. Prizes will be awarded to include gift cards and toys.

"We will have hayrides, pony rides and a petting zoo," said Henson.

Inflatables will also be at the park for children.

"We know it will be an awesome day," said Henson. "The weather report looks pretty good."
