Paramedics took a man to a local hospital with minor injuries after he lost control of his truck on Interstate 40 on Monday morning.
According to Mt. Juliet police spokesperson Tyler Chandler, the driver was traveling west on I-40 near the 227-mile marker when he skidded into the median and flipped his truck several times. It was raining heavily at the time of the accident, which happened in a construction zone.
When police arrived, the man was in a passerby's car with minor injuries. He was taken to Summit Medical Center. The man's identity was not released.
Diesel fuel was leaking from the damaged truck, and westbound lanes of the interstate had to be shut down for about an hour.
