Lebanon High School went on lockdown briefly Thursday after reports of a man with a shotgun near the school.
Police Chief Scott Bowen said police received two separate reports at about 7:45 a.m. of a man carrying a shotgun, walking in the Tuckers Gap area along Leeville Pike.
Bowen said police notified both Lebanon High School and Byars Dowdy Elementary School administrators because of their proximity to the reported individual.
“Our first priority, along with the Sheriff’s Department and the [schools], is the safety of the kids,” said Bowen.
Police set up a perimeter around the area where the man was last seen to search for him, but they were unable to locate anyone who fit the man's description.
