With a flash flood warning in effect Thursday until 12:30 p.m., National Weather Service meteorologists expect heavy rainfall to continue at least during that time.
NWS meteorologist Brittney Coleman said rain started falling in west Wilson County around 4 a.m., and between 3-6 inches has fallen since that time. She estimates parts of west Wilson County where flooding is most prominent received as much as 6 inches of rain with northern areas getting 3-4 inches.
“The boundary these storms are setting up on are gradually moving northeast, so there will be a break in showers in a couple of hours.”
Coleman said to expect moderate rainfall for about two more hours before a break as the front continues to slowly move northeast.
