Alberto Gonzales will be the special guest at the Wilson County Republican Party's annual Reagan Day dinner Saturday.
Gonzales, who was U.S. Attorney General under former President George W. Bush, will be the keynote speaker at the party's annual fundraising dinner. Wilson County Republican Party Chairman Clark Boyd said Gonzales was in the White House at the time of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
"He was central to a lot of things that happened in the war on terror," Boyd said.
Also scheduled to speak is U.S. Congressman Diane Black.
This year's dinner will be held in the Capitol Theatre Saturday at 6 p.m. In prior years, the dinner held at the Wilson County Fairgrounds, and in most recent years, at Baird Chapel at Cumberland University.
"We thought [the Capitol Theatre] would be an exciting venue this year," Boyd said.
Also during the evening, the Mt. Juliet High School Young Republicans group will share a three-minute slideshow that it has put together.
Tickets for the dinner are $50 each, and anyone interested in buying one of the remaining tickets is asked to contact Boyd at 444-8111 or via email at email@example.com.
