Sammy B’s owners have started managing events activities at The Mill where the restaurant can be found.

The Mill at Lebanon ranked seventh among largest event facilities in Middle Tennessee by The Nashville Business Journal with more than 14,000 square feet of event space. The Mill is known for its dramatic architectural characteristics and its ability to accommodate 50-1,500 guests in an upscale environment. The Mill has been the venue of choice for many since 2006.

Sammy B’s at The Mill started its business in 2012. Jim and Gina Stradley’s restaurant is modeled after their original eatery, Sammy B’s on Music Row. The Stradleys have more than 35 years in the food service industry with experience in fine dining, corporate dining, private clubs, on and offsite catering and free-standing restaurants. Sammy B’s is also an established catering and events management company operating under both Sammy B’s and RSVP Food Services.

Jim Stradley came to Middle Tennessee in the late 1970s as general manager of TGI Friday’s on Elliston Place and was the opening general manager of Friday’s “new concept” Dalt’s on White Bridge Road. He eventually came to Wilson County in the ’90s, opening Rademaker’s Chop House at Castle Heights then went on to run the operation at the Lebanon Golf Country Club for 13 years and is entering his ninth season as the food and beverage operator of the Cedar Creek Yacht Club.

Curt Gibbs, owner of The Mill at Lebanon and Jim Stradley, owner of Sammy B’s worked closely together in 2013 to develop a transition plan that will not only preserve the hospitality competencies that are in place, but also further enhance the events business at The Mill while redevelopment of the overall Mill at Lebanon project continues.

In 2008, The Mill, with the assistance of the Kemmons School of Hospitality, initiated the first phase of its hospitality business model that included its preferred catering arrangement with some of the best caterers in Middle Tennessee. Sammy B’s will help The Mill implement the second phase of this plan, which includes a combined sales and event management company coordinating all aspects of an event.

As Sammy B’s enters into this management arrangement, The Mill continues to ensure high levels of quality and performance for which has become known, remain in place. A transitional team is in place to make sure existing contracts with customers remain unchanged and to bring them the quality experience they expect.

The Mill at Lebanon is listed on the Historic Register and is an adaptive reuse project in downtown Lebanon. It is currently occupied by full-time, mixed use tenants in addition to its events, trade show, concerts and social gathering venues.
