Pinnacle Financial Partners recently donated $2,500 to Brooks House, a local non-profit that provides a safe, comfortable environment for women and children seeking shelter and connects them with resources to help them change their lives.

Carol Ann Griffin, office leader at Pinnacle’s W. Baddour Parkway office, presented the check to Brooks House director Liz Reese. Griffin is also a Brooks House board member.

“Pinnacle’s hope is that this donation will help Brooks House expand its facility to make more room for women and children who need a place to stay,” Griffin said. “The demand for more shelter space is a great need within Wilson County.”

Brooks House plans to expand to bring its 2,700-square-foot facility to more than 4,200 square feet. The addition will consist of two new bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, storage area and office. Adding five more bedrooms to the current facility will increase capacity from 20 to 30 people at a time.

Pinnacle Financial Partners provides a full range of banking, investment, mortgage, trust and insurance products and services designed for small- to mid-sized businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution.

Brooks House shelter has the capability for up to 20 women and children to receive temporary shelter. There are eight bedrooms, shared bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room and family room. They are provided with meals, warmth in cold weather and a respite from the summer heat in a safe, comfortable and caring environment. To learn more about Brooks House, visit brookshouse.org.
