Chocolate lovers were in abundance at the fifth annual Chocolate Affair that benefits the Child Advocacy Center.
Deb Daugherty, the director of the 15th Judicial District Child Advocacy Center, said all proceeds from the event go “for direct services for children.”
Most of the funds go toward paying for the center’s forensic investigator.
“Other centers get a grant for the forensic investigator, but we don’t, so this pays for their salary.”
Daugherty said that new at this year’s event, the center offered a green screen photo booth, which she said was very popular. “I’ve seen lots of people getting dressed up, they seem to be enjoying it,” she said.
Daugherty said the CAC is hoping to raise $10,000 from this year’s event and is “hoping this will be our biggest crowd yet.”
