Police ID man killed in motorcycle wreck

Lebanon police identified Saturday afternoon a man killed in a motorcycle wreck in Lebanon on Friday afternoon.
Police Chief Scott Bowen said Robert E. Meeks, 66, of Nashville, died in the wreck that happened about 4:30 p.m.
According to Lebanon police Lt. Chris Melvin, Meeks was traveling on Business Park Drive toward Highway 109 when his Suzuki Hyabusa went off the road and struck a power transformer, which then caught fire.
Lebanon police, firefighters and Wilson Emergency Management Agency emergency personnel responded to the scene.
WEMA Director Joey Cooper said Meeks received serious head and facial trauma from the collision. An off-duty Metro Nashville paramedic was on scene and began performing CPR on the victim.
Melvin said Meeks died at the scene.
Police are still investigating the wreck and will release more information as it becomes available.
