Central shut out by Hendersonville, district tournament opens today

GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central closed its regular season Monday with a pair of 9-0 losses to visiting Hendersonville on Monday.

District 9-AAA boys quarterfinal matches are set for today with fifth-seeded Central traveling to Gallatin and No. 6 Gallatin going to Hendersonville’s Drakes Creek Park to take on Beech. No. 2 Mt. Juliet drew a bye.

Girls quarterfinals will be played Wednesday with No. 6 Wilson Central traveling to Drakes Creek to face Beech and No. 4 Lebanon going to Station Camp. No. 2 Mt. Juliet drew a bye.

Singles winners for the Commandos were Kato Richardson over Max Rahmani 6-0, 6-0; Braden White over Nathaniel Dennison 6-0, 6-1; Miller Kampa over Zach Baker 8-2, Eric Newell over Paden Robertson 8-1, Brian Grim over Reece Gaddes 8-2 and Aaron Longe over Chase McElfresh 8-3.

Doubles winners were Richardson and White over Dennison and Baker 8-2, Kampa and Newell over Gaddes and Rahmani 8-0 and Longe and Marcus Crystal over Robertson and McElfresh 8-2.

Singles winners for the Lady Commandos were Sara Hall over Lani Lee 6-2, 6-1; Allison Newell over Kansas Glasgow 6-0, 6-0; McKenzie Robinson over Micheala Micco 8-0, Lauren Lee over Jackie Anderson 8-2, Grace Phillips over Rebecca Glenn 8-6 and Kelly Dineen over Hallie Wolfe 9-7.

Doubles winners were Hall and Robinson over Glasgow and Lee 8-2, Lee and Newell over Micco and Anderson 8-1 and Dineen and Phillips over Glenn and Wolfe 8-1.
