Vol State home inspection course can lead to a business

Staff Reports • Dec 17, 2015 at 6:23 PM

Housing sales are up in Wilson County and Tennessee, and that means there is a need for more home inspections in the area.

Volunteer State Community College Continuing Education offers a non-credit home inspection course that prepares students for state licensing.

Jason Haggard, of Goodlettsville, completed the course to start his own business, AAA Complete Home Inspection.

“I took the class and I passed the state test and then I started the business. It’s been going well,” Haggard said.

The next home inspection course starts May 28. The course costs $1,995 and includes the needed books and a practice exam. For more information, visit volstate.edu/ce and then click on the “Course Registration” tab or call 615-230-3358.

Volunteer State Community College has more than 70 programs of study and offers two-year degrees, certificates and paths to university transfer. Continuing education and workforce development extends the college mission to the entire community. For more information, visit volstate.edu.
