Jones was born in Houston, and she attended public schools there. She attended Texas Southern University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in child development. At 11, she was baptized and began her church work called to the ministry.
She enrolled in the Houston Graduate School of Theology and graduated with a master of divinity degree in pastoral care. While in Houston in 1993, Jones founded God’s Way Ministry and the Neighborhood Oriented Child Development Resource.
Following her marriage to Bishop Ernest J. Jones, she moved to Carthage. There, she was ordained a minister of the gospel. Together, they founded God’s Way Community Church, where she served as co-pastor and minister in charge of the church’s outreach ministries and coordinating church programs.
She and her husband moved from Carthage to Lebanon, where they currently live. A great deal of time is still devoted to their evangelistic and outreach ministries. Jones also plays a role in their Christian comedy drama. Jones and her husband do speaking engagements. They enjoy cooking and testing recipes from various sources. They love entertaining family members and friends. They also enjoy traveling and spending time at their other home in Houston.
