Kittens. Kittens. They are showing up more and more in shelters right now. We are able to help some of these kittens find homes through our caring foster homes. Here are just some of the kittens we now have available. All kittens will be started on shots, wormed, tested leukemia negative, and spay/neuter is required for adoption. We have different colors available - all are raised “hands-on” by the foster families. For info on available kittens, contact Lorna at 615-946-3643.
This handsome face is Brownie – an 8-month-old boxer mix. He and his sister, Brittle, are in need of a new home from their family near Watertown. They are both spayed/neutered - and are friendly to other dogs. The adoption will be handled through the current owner – for information on Brownie or Brittle, contact Laurie at 615-887-4380. This information is listed here as a courtesy to the current owner - the responsible placement of these pets will be that of the current owner.
Visit countryk9.petfinder.com or find us on Facebook at Country K-9 Rescue Adoptable Pets to see other available rescued pets. Our adoption fees are usually $100 for dogs and $50 for cats/kittens – all pets are fully vetted and healthy.
Thanks to the “Back in Black” campaign, Spook has a reduced adoption fee as we partner with Best Friends Animal Society recognizing our all black or almost all black dogs and cats. Spook came to New Leash on Life with her siblings Indy and Sox, when their “person” passed away. Spook was born on Halloween which is how she got her name. She is an 18-month-old, 34-pound, black hound mix. She is a bit shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and start giving you body and tail wags.
She loves the company of other dogs, as that was what she was used to – living with Indy and Sox all her life. If you’re looking for a companion for your own dog, you should check Spook out. We do not know if she is housetrained but, she is quite young and will probably learn quickly. Spook has been spayed, micro-chipped and is current on vaccinations. With an approved application, you can take your cute little spooky nugget home for $50. New Leash on Life policy: All dogs adopted through us are to be considered family members and must be allowed inside, especially at night.
Finn is a stunning 1 1/2 year old, 7.8 pound, grey and white shorthaired Tabby. He and Kit came to New Leash when their family developed allergies to cats. Finn is super friendly and seems to get along with other cats. He enjoys roaming around the open cat room and doesn’t mind the kittens running around causing havoc like kittens do.
Finn is litter box trained, neutered, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. Come to the PetSmart in Mt. Juliet’s Providence Marketplace and adopt Finn for $75. All cats must be indoor only and shall not be declawed.
Not sure if you’re ready to commit to adoption? Ask about our 7-day Sleepover Program for dogs and cats. If you already have your limit of four-legged family members, please consider becoming a ‘Guardian’ to help homeless pets each month. Just visit newleashonline.org and click on Programs, then Guardian Guild for more information.
