A Mt. Juliet teen who ran away from home has been found.

Travis “Vincent” Walter, 16, of Mt. Juliet, ran away from home May 22, and he failed to appear in juvenile court Tuesday.

Quickly after Mt. Juliet Police released information regarding the search for the teen, numerous tips flooded Mt. Juliet’s emergency communications center. Many of the callers said they saw the information posted on social media and possibly knew where Walter was.

A tip led to Walter’s location on Hollywood Drive in Old Hickory, and Mt. Juliet Police requested Wilson County Sheriff’s Office to check that location for him. Walter was successfully located at that location around 8:30 p.m. on May 29, 2014, unharmed.

“Our department is so thankful for the many tips that came in to our emergency communications center, and we are thankful that Vincent was located so quickly,” said police Lt. Tyler Chandler. “The power of a community is much stronger when it’s organized, and social media helps us build that strength through quick communication.”
