Pets of the Week for June 2, 2014

Staff Reports • Dec 17, 2015 at 6:36 PM

Cotton Candy is a very sweet German Shepherd mix - about 3-4 years old - very calm and mild-mannered. She was found as a skinny stray - but her weight is now good and she is very healthy. She is spayed, current on shots and heartworm negative. Cotton gets along fine with other dogs and is good with children - she may chase a cat if it runs. She does not mess in her kennel area so she should be fine with housetraining to a new home. Cotton is a beautiful lady and would make a calm and enjoyable companion pet. For info on Cotton Candy, contact our kennel 615-444-8011.

What’s not to love about a Bloodhound? And Duke is a super one. He is 4 years old - great with other dogs but not tested with cats. He is healthy - neutered, current on shots and heartworm negative. His nose always seems to be to the ground - but, hey, he’s a bloodhound! Duke likes to ride in a car and he is active and friendly to visitors. He will be a fun and loyal pet for an active person or family. For info, contact Duke’s foster - Sara at 615-330-6372.

Celebrating “Back in Black” – Hemi has a reduced adoption fee as New Leash on Life partners with Best Friends Animal Society recognizing our all black or almost all black dogs and cats. Hemi is one of the sweetest border collie/lab mix doggies you will ever meet. He has a great disposition, considering what he’s gone through in his short life so far.

When Hemi and his litter-mates, Marvin Gaye, Tina Turner, and Dusty Springfield arrived at New Leash on Life, they were incredibly scared and full of ticks. Once these fur babies were cleared of the ticks and given medicated baths, they felt so much better and started coming out of their shells! Hemi was adopted at 4 months old, but came back to New Leash on Life due to him not being the right fit for the family. He is a 1-year-old, 54 pound, black and white Border Collie/Lab mix.

Hemi is very playful and friendly and we just love his black and white cow spots!  Hemi knows some basic commands but like most dogs, he would benefit from obedience school. He would probably do best in a home with older children. He has been neutered, micro-chipped and is current on vaccinations. Hemi is confident he will find people that will love him and want him forever! With an approved application, you can take him home for $50 (reduced from $85.) New Leash on Life policy: All dogs adopted through NLOL are to be considered family pets and must sleep inside at night.

Callie is a 4 1/2 year old, 12 pound, beautiful Torbie mix. She came to New Leash on Life after her previous owner was no longer allowed to have cats in their apartment. Callie is adjusting great to all the changes in her life. She is friendly and appears to get along with other cats. Callie is litter box trained, spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. Come and meet Callie and adopt this beautiful girl for $85. Adoption Center Policy: All cats must be indoor only and shall not be declawed.
