Pets of the Week for June 10, 2014

Staff Reports • Dec 17, 2015 at 6:38 PM

What’s not to love about a bloodhound? And Duke is a super one. He is 4 years old and great with other dogs but not tested with cats. He is healthy, neutered, current on shots and heartworm negative. His nose always seems to be to the ground, but he’s a bloodhound. Duke likes to ride in a car, and he is active and friendly to visitors. He will be a fun and loyal pet for an active person or family. For more information, contact Duke’s foster, Sara, at 615-330-6372.

The Sassy Sisters are two fun-loving little kittens about 9 weeks old and super friendly. They have been in a foster home and are used to “hands-on” treatment and lots of play and fun time. They are healthy, tested feline leukemia negative, current on shots and will be spayed for adoption. They can be adopted separately or together, but someone will have a hard time choosing just one.

One is buff and white tabby, and her sister is orange and white tabby. For information on the Sassy Sisters, contact their foster, Lorna, 615-946-3643 or Annelise at 615-449-3796.

Visit countryk9.petfinder.com or find Country K-9 Pet Rescue on Facebook to see other available rescued pets. The adoption fees are usually $100 for dogs and $50 for cats or kittens. All pets are fully vetted and healthy.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful little 18-month-old tricolor rat terrier mix named Patsy, and she was worried. It showed in her face and her body language. Through no fault of their own, she and her sister had to be brought to New Leash on Life. Then, her sister was adopted, and she was all on her own for the first time in her life. Why had she gone from sofa to kennel? And how would her new, true-blue person find her? It’s no wonder Patsy looks confused and a little scared. But then when a kind person talks to her or puts their hand down to let her sniff, she starts smiling and gently wagging her tail showing she is eager to quietly get to know someone. Patsy weighs less than 20 pounds and has been spayed, micro-chipped and is current on vaccinations. She seems to be housetrained, and once she is comfortable, can be quite the wiggle worm. With an approved application, Patsy can be adopted for $135. Call 615-444-1144 or come by the adoption center in Lebanon to meet her. All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside, especially at night.

Casanova has quite a story to tell. He was found as a stray along the side of the road, apparently hit by a car. Thanks to a caring resident, Casanova came to New Leash on Life so he could have a chance to be treated for his injuries related to being hit and to find his forever inside home. Due to the severe injury to his rear left leg, it was determined amputation was his best chance to have a full and healthy life. Being three-legged doesn’t stop Casanova. He’s active, super loving and a great cat. He lives up to his name – he is a lover. Casanova is about 2 1/2 years old, weighs 8.8 pounds and is a beautiful black-and-white tuxedo kitty. Casanova is litter-box trained, neutered, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations.  Adopt this fabulous fellow for $85. All cats must be indoor only and shall not be declawed.

Not sure if you’re ready to commit to adoption? Ask about New Leash on Life’s seven-day sleepover program for dogs and cats. If you already have your limit of four-legged family members, consider becoming a ‘Guardian’ to help homeless pets each month. Visit newleashonline.org and click on Programs, then Guardian Guild for more information.
