Pets of the Week for Aug. 5, 2014

Staff Reports • Dec 17, 2015 at 6:56 PM

It may be summer, but it’s Chili time all year ‘round for this happy boy. Chili is about 3 years old - small sized at under 25 pounds. We have no idea what breeds he is mixed with but he sure came out looking cute - and he has a playful and friendly personality. Chili gets along with other dogs and seems okay with our office cats.  He is healthy - neutered, current on shots and will be microchipped for adoption.  Come to meet this cutie-pie at our kennel - call 615-444-8011 for info.

There are still many cats and kittens looking for homes - This picture is of just one of several still available. All our rescued cats and kittens are in foster homes where they learn to play and be with people. All cats and kittens are spayed, tested feline leukemia negative and current on shots before adoption. For info on this kitten and others, please call Annelise 615-449-3796.

Please visit our website www.countryk9.petfinder.com or find us on Facebook  Country K-9 Rescue Adoptable Pets to see other available rescued pets. Our adoption fees are usually $100 for dogs and $50 for cats/kittens - all pets are fully vetted and healthy.

Are you looking for something that’s missing in your life? What a coincidence, Henry Higgins says he is too. Sounds like the two of you need to meet. Henry is a 4 year old, 12 pound, black/grey Poodle or Schnauzer mix. It’s hard to tell since he came to New Leash on Life after being rescued by Animal Rescue Corp, along with 132 other dogs, from a puppy mill situation. Henry’s hair was so matted, he had to be shaved at the Emergency Shelter. You can only imagine what his life was like.

He hasn’t been at New Leash on Life very long so we are learning more and more about him every day but he seems to be a very happy and active boy. We know he will be a fabulous forever fur friend for the right family. Henry has been neutered, micro-chipped and is current on vaccinations. With an approved application, you can adopt him for $135. Could you be his future perfect match? Come meet him at the adoption center to find out! All New Leash on life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside – especially at night.

If you want a cat that is just a big love bug then you need to come and meet Samantha. She is a big 12 pound, black and white, 7.5 years young domestic shorthair tabby. She loves to roll on her side and let you give her as much attention as you can. Chin and head scratches are her favorite and she will nudge you with her head to let you know she doesn’t want you to stop.

Samantha came to New Leash on Life from an animal control facility so she could find just the right home where she is free to sleep all day or romp around the house or just lie next to you while you read a book. Samantha is adjusting to being in our open cat room – she appears to do okay with other cats, but if she had her preference she’d be the only one so she could get all the attention.  Samantha is spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. Samantha also comes with a pink litterbox and matching food and water bowl. Come meet Samantha here at the shelter and adopt her for $85. Adoption Center Policy:  All cats must be indoor only and shall not be declawed.

Not sure if you’re ready to commit to adoption? Ask about our 7-day Sleepover Program for dogs and cats. If you already have your limit of four-legged family members, please consider becoming a ‘Guardian’ to help homeless pets each month.
