Mt. Juliet Senior Center will have its third annual Pig-Stravaganza Friday.

The event is a fundraiser for the center to benefit its various activities and includes a pork dinner as well as a silent auction.

The evening will include music, but the “grand finale” for the evening comes in an unconventional form. Pig-Stravaganza features a pig calling contest.

Organizers have said the pig calling contest is “amazing,” and this year will feature “celebrity” judges Judge John Gwin, Judge Andy Wright, Judge Clara Byrd and Mayors Ed Hagerty and Randall Hutto.

The event will be held at the center from 6-8 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Bar-B-Cutie and includes a barbecue pork sandwich, potato salad, baked beans, chips, dessert and beverage. Admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. The event is open to those 18 and older.

The silent auction includes entertainment packages, jewelry, art, car care packages, sports items, home décor and handmade items.

For more information call the center at 758-9114.
