Pets of the Week for Aug. 12, 2014

Staff Reports • Dec 17, 2015 at 6:58 PM

This is Princess, and behind her noble look is the heart and soul of a life’s companion. She is playful, friendly and loves being with people. Princess came to New Leash on Life when the health of her person began to fail, making it too difficult for him to provide for his sweet girl.

She is a 3-year-old, 68 pound, tan and black German Shepherd mix. She has just arrived at the Adoption Center so the staff is learning more about her every day.  Princess is a large dog with a lot of strength and energy. The staff are working with her on her leash-walking skills and think she would make a great running partner.  Or if you have an active family that loves to play outside, including her in your outdoor activities would be perfect.

Princess is spayed, micro-chipped and will be current on vaccinations prior to adoption. With an approved application, you can adopt her for $85 and be her knight in shining armor. This royal Princess can’t wait to travel to her new kingdom. All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside-especially at night.

You might ask why Miss Kitty has a sad distant look in her beautiful gold eyes but we understand why she is a little sad. Her owner recently passed away and Miss Kitty is missing her and trying to figure out what is next in her life. She dreams of a new forever home where she can receive all the love and attention she could possibly want. She is very sweet and loving and would love to spend all her time in your lap getting head and chin scratches. Miss Kitty is front declawed, 7 years young, weighs 15 pounds, and is a black and white Tuxedo. She does need to trim down a little, which she can easily do in her new forever home where she can romp and play and burn off some of those unwanted pounds. Miss Kitty is litter box trained, spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. Come and meet this beautiful girl and make her dreams come true. Adopt her for $85. Adoption Center Policy:  All cats must be indoor only.

Not sure if you’re ready to commit to adoption? Ask about our 7-day Sleepover Program for dogs and cats. If you already have your limit of four-legged family members, please consider becoming a ‘Guardian’ to help homeless pets each month. Just visit http://www.newleashonline.org and click on Programs, then Guardian Guild for more information.

Doesn’t Sweetie have a beautiful face? And she has the personality to match it, too. Sweetie is about 2 years old - a happy, well-mannered girl - she gets along fine with other dogs and all visitors. Sweetie will chase cats so a cat-free home would be best. She is healthy - spayed and current on shots. Sweetie came to us heartworm positive - she has been treated and needs a re-test in a few months - the rescue will cover all these expenses. But she can go to her new home now - come to meet Sweetie, you’ll see why she has that name.

Meet The Lovely Lottie - a black lab mix on the medium size - Lottie is an older lady, maybe 8 years old, but is one of the best behaved and happiest dogs at the rescue. She gets along well with other dogs, cats and all visitors. Lottie is usually in the office with us because she has excellent manners. She is calm when inside and then likes a bit of a romp in the play-yard or on a walk. Lottie is healthy - spayed and current on shots. We don’t know why Lottie found herself homeless - but she would make an excellent housepet and companion. Please call the kennel 615-444-8011 for info on this sweet girl.

Please visit our website www.countryk9.petfinder.com or find us on Facebook  Country K-9 Rescue Adoptable Pets to see other available rescued pets. Our adoption fees are usually $100 for dogs and $50 for cats/kittens - all pets are fully vetted and healthy.
