Lebanon’s Sports Village will be celebrating with some star power Saturday.
The popular health and fitness facility will celebrate the grand opening of its new year-round pavilion with a community event featuring Disney singer and actress, Coco Jones.
“Coco Jones is performing at 10:30 a.m., and then some of our kids and adults are going to be doing a flash-mob dance to Thriller,” said Peggy Kell, owner of Sports Village.
The music will continue with a performance by the popular local band, Blues Brokers.
“In between all the music, we’re having a basketball shootout just for fun,” said Kell, “not actually playing basketball, just shooting for fun.”
Since a celebration is never quite the same without something to satisfy a sweet tooth, the event will also feature an ice cream sundae bar.
The event, which will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is free and open to the public.
“This is the grand opening of our new pavilion,” said Kell. “It can be used year-round, and the main purpose is for our kids programming.”
The facility offers a full basketball court and will hold kids programming, such as noncompetitive sports and other activities.
“The key is to just keep it fun for the kids so the kids are happy when the parents are working out,” said Kell.
