Jacobs chosen as TSC Freshman of the Month

Cumberland freshman Emily Jacobs was named TranSouth Conference Womens' Tennis Player of the Month this week.
The former Lebanon High standout is 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles with partner Sarah Garman.
"I was excited when we were able to sign Emily to play at Cumberland and I am even more excited to see her win such an award," Coach Bill Riddle said.
As a junior player, Jacobs finished 2006 ranked No. 1 in the state 18-under doubles division.
"Her improvement since coming to Cumberland has been nothing short of incredible and it's no surprise that she has been recognized with this award," CU assistant coach Will Edmonds said.
The Lady Bulldogs resume play at noon Saturday when Alabama-Huntsville visit the Cumberland courts.
