Lady 'Cats post 20th triumph

GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central's No. 5 Lady Wildcats had no trouble with Hunters Lane on Thursday in a 63-30 victory.
The hosts led 18-8 following the first quarter and 40-16 at halftime as they improved to 20-3.
Tierney Jenkins notched 19 points and nine rebounds for Central while center Jasmine Hassell threw in 13. Lauren Wasson, Sara Williams and Chelsea Burroughs each scored six while Jessyca Christopher finished with five, Jenna Baines and Kelsey McGee three apiece and Lauren Farmer two.
Central shot 24-of-45 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, and 12-of-20 from the free-throw line. The Lady Wildcats committed just eight turnovers for the second straight game.
The Lady Wildcats will travel to No. 2 Shelbyville on Saturday for a rematch of last year's state final. Game time has been changed to 5 p.m.

Tigerettes hammer Hermitage Springs
WATERTOWN — Watertown made Hermitage Springs' final visit here a miserable experience Thursday with a 51-17 victory.
The Tigerettes led 14-0 following the first quarter and 19-4 at halftime as they improved to 12-8 for the season.
Brittnee Sells threw in three 3-pointers on her way to 19 for Watertown while Amanda Montgomery and Miaushia Thompson each tossed in 10. Ashley Bogle bagged a pair of threes for her six while Carley Smith, Hannah Forbes and Whitney Hale each tossed in two.
Hermitage Springs is scheduled to close at the end of the school year and consolidate with Clay County.
Watertown will host Mt. Juliet Christian for Coming Home at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Humes lifts Lady Saints past Carroll Academy
MT. JULIET — Christine Humes led the way for Mt. Juliet Christian in a 61-45 crushing of Carroll Academy on Thursday.
Humes threw in three 3-pointers on her way to 27 points while swiping six steals and passing for five assists as Mt. Juliet Christian climbed to 12-9 for the season.
The Lady Saints led 11-6 following the first quarter, 25-16 at halftime and 42-25 through three periods.
Anna Haley tossed in 10 points for Mt. Juliet Christian while Holly Morgan scored seven, Kristen Tewmey five, Paige Hudson and Lauren Bean four each and Cali Beard and Leanna Sanders two apiece. Hudson notched nine assists while sister Ashley Hudson hauled down eight rebounds.
Amanda Gobbel totaled 27 points for Carroll while Tasha Puckett pumped in two threes on her way to 16.
Mt. Juliet Christian will return to District 8-A action tonight when they travel to Watertown for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff. It's the Lady Saints' only Friday game of the season.
