Lady Dawgs split double header

MAYFIELD, Ky.--The Cumberland softball team (4-10, 2-6 TransSouth) split a double-header at Mid-Continent University (6-12, 2-6) Tuesday.
The Lady Dawgs dropped the first game 6-5 in seven innings. Ally Donnelly (1-1) took the loss for CU. Catcher Amy Eden had a homerun, her first of the season, and a double for 3 RBIs in the loss. Jamie Smith had two RBIs on two hits. First baseman Jennifer Brewington had a run-scoring double, as well.
In the late game, Cumberland exacted their revenge on their conference rivals with a 3-1 victory. Brewington had a complete game victory, scattering six hits over seven innings and striking out five. Eden hit two more homeruns and drove in all three runs.
