Lebanon nets sweep of Warriors
SPARTA — Lebanon's boys edged host White County 4-3 Thursday while the Devilettes breezed to a 6-1 victory.
Singles winners for the Blue Devils were Ben Fennell over Justin Turner 8-2, Peter Misaiphon over Jacob Spivey 8-6 and Patrick Jones over Kevin Honuker 8-3. Fennell and Joseph Do defeated Ross Jolly and Josh Brown 9-7 in doubles.
Winners for the Warriors were Jolly over Do 8-3, Brown over Andrew Puryear 8-6 and Turner and Brady over Puryear and Misaiphon 9-7.
Lebanon's Zac Morgan and Brian Lindsey won a 6-4 doubles exhibition over Spivey and Honuker.
Singles winners for the Devilettes were Chelsea Fyke over Audrey Wyatt 8-3, Courtney Fyke over Allison Wilson 8-2, Kacey Conatser over Rachel Ragovin 8-1 and Samantha McElfresh over Star Simpson 8-0.
Doubles winners for the Devilettes were the Fyke sisters over Wyatt and Wilson 8-2 and Conatser and Sarah Morgan over Ragovin and Kim Madge and Ragovin 8-0.
White County's only winner was Madge over Morgan 8-6.
Lebanon will host Middle Tennessee Christian at 3:30 p.m. today at Cumberland.
Friendship white washes White House 9-0, climb to 5-0
WHITE HOUSE — Both Friendship Christian teams moved to 5-0 with identical 9-0 shutouts of White House on Thursday.
Singles winners for the Lady Commanders were Paige Watson over Kristen Burgett 8-0, Amanda Ferrell over Dani Miller 8-2, Ashley Ayub over Sarah Townsend 8-0, Katie Mitchell over Brittney Chapman 8-1, Hannah Neal over Stephanie Miller 8-1 and Carly Warmath over Callie Leftwich 8-0.
Doubles winners were Ferrell and Ayub over Miller and Munsfield 8-0, Watson and Mitchell over Hazelwood and Burgett 8-1 and Neal and Warmath over Miller and Townsend 8-2.
For the Commanders, singles winners were Dillon Bane over Ethan McPherson 8-1, Andrew Neely over Colby Swift 8-0, Jordan Huddleston over Greg Heyn 8-1, Hunter Harwell over Dayton Wallace 8-0, Jonathan Huddleston over Taylor Parks 8-1 and Michael Smith over Danny Chriss 8-1.
Doubles winners were Harwell and Smith over McPherson and Parks 9-7, Jonathan Huddleston and Trey Farmer over Heyn and Chriss 8-0 and Ryan Hayward and Rohan Ayub over Swift and Wallace 8-3.
Friendship will travel to take on Mt. Juliet Christian at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Mt. Juliet takes two from Gallatin
GALLATIN — Mt. Juliet's girls edged Gallatin 5-4 while the Golden Bears shut out the Green Wave 9-0 Thursday at the Civic Center courts.
The Lady Bears won 2 of 3 doubles matches to hand first-year coach Derek Elwell a victory. Molly McCabe and Brooke Jeffcoat defeated Darla Chaniott and Rafaella Roque 8-3 while Mt. Juliet teammates Caroline Sugg and Katie Kelly topped Kelly Kairkham and Heidy LaTorre 8-2.
Those wins offset the 9-7 win by Gallatin's Sheffy Franklin and Rachel Morrow over Jessica Porter and Kelsey Copeland.
Singles winners for the Lady Bears were McCabe over Chaniott 6-2, 6-2; Porter over Morrow 6-0, 6-1, Copeland over Roque 6-2, 6-4 and Jefcoat over LaTorre 6-0, 6-0.
Mt. Juliet's Rachel Calkins aggravated an injury in her 6-3, 6-0 loss to Franklin at No. 1 singles. Gallatin's other singles winner was Kairkham over Lindsey Gaither in three sets.
Singles winners for the Golden Bears were Jess Dillard over Joel Muro by default, Adam Williams over Nick Khoury 6-1, 6-1; Andy Mihalik over Austin Porter 6-3, 6-4; Matt Freda over Dujuan Manning 6-2, 6-1; Kenny Smith over Brad Jones 6-1, 6-1 and Jeff Gurch over Joe Morrow 6-0, 6-1.
Doubles winners for the Bears were Dillard and Freda over Muro and Khoury by default, Williams and Mihalik over Porter and Manning 8-5 and Smith and Gurch over Jones and Morrow 8-1.
Mt. Juliet will travel to Smyrna at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
