AkaiCon Senshi Seven -- Anime & Cosplay Convetion

9 a.m.

The AkaiCon anime and cosplay convention will continue Saturday, July 26 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Wilson County Expo Center, 945 E. Baddour Pkwy in Lebanon. The theme this year is transformation, magic and power. All cosplayers are welcome. Activities include guest panels, cosplay contest, games, vendors, music, and more. Guests include Vitamin H, Gunpla Lady, Twin Fools and Nova Vandorwolf, Moderately Okay Cosplay, None Like Joshua and Chuck Huber -- voice of Android 17, Hiei, Kurogiri, Dr. Frankenstein and more. Tickets range in price from $30 to $45.

Team Kate Family Field Day

9 a.m.

Team Kate will hold at fundraiser for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation on Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. until noon at 1409 Medical Center Dr. in Lebanon. Music, inflatable obstacle courses, a toddler play area and the Team Kate Challenge Course and more will be at the event. Tickets are $25 at the gate and $20 in advance from teamkate2019.eventvrite.com. Lunch is included in the price of admission. Kids younger than age 3 will be admitted for free.

Celebrate the Arts Bash

Providence Marketplace will throw a family art event Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. until noon. The event will include activities like a community art mural, crafts, a caricature artist, giant balloon photo op, an arts scavenger hunt and a stuff the bus school drive. The event is free, but donations for the stuff the bus school drive put on by the United Way of Wilson County and the Upper Cumberland are encouraged.

Wilson County Conservative Republicans meeting

9 a.m.

The Wilson County Conservative Republicans will meet Saturday, July 27, at 9 a.m. at Logan's at Providence in Mt. Juliet. This month's program will be presented by the Wilson County Election Commission on the latest techniques in voter registration. They will also discuss the new vote centers for Wilson County.

Yoga in the Park

Bloom Yoga Studio will offer a free yoga class Saturday, July 27 at 9:30 a.m. at Don Fox Park. The class will meet at the sign to the left of the volleyball courts. Those interested should bring a yoga mat or beach towel.

4-H Poultry Show and Sale

The Wilson County 4-H Poultry Show and Sale will be Saturday, July 27 at 9 a.m. The sale begins immediately after the show at 10 a.m. Rhode Island Reds and Barred Rocks will be available. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1004 meeting

Chapter 1004 of the Vietnam Veterans of America will meet Monday, July 29 in place of its August meeting due to the Wilson County Fair. The chapter usually meets the first Monday of each month in the Veterans Building at the James E. Ward Agriculture Center in Lebanon. Meetings start at 5 with several members showing up early. Family album debut 'Sweet Surrender'

The Nesbitt family from the Providence Church will locally debut their new CD, 'Sweet Surrender' on Friday, Aug. 2 at Love's Way Church in Lebanon. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the service will begin at 7 p.m. The CD was debuted nationally at the Messiah Conference in Pennsylvania.

Goldwing Road Riders Association -- Motorcycle Chapter

The next monthly meeting of the Lebanon Chapter of Goldwing Road Riders Association will be Saturday, August 3 with brunch starting at 11 a.m. and the meeting at noon. The group meets at Shoney's Restaurant, 814 S Cumberland St, in Lebanon. The group is open to all motorcycle makes and models. Presently, Post 5015 is having success in rebuilding its post and becoming active in district and local events. It is not a Lebanon post, but a countywide post. Homelessness conference: Bridges for Tomorrow ... Hope for Today

A conference on homelessness will be Monday, September 9 and Tuesday, September 10 at The Mill in Lebanon. Workshops by local and national experts will be available. The conference starts Monday with registration and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and a welcome will be given at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $35. To register visit midcumberland.org.

Sherry's Run

8 a.m.

The 16th annual Sherry's Run 5K Run/Walk will be Saturday, Sept. 14 at 8 a.m. The run supports local organization Sherry's Run that offers support to those affected by cancer. Register or join a team at sherrysrun.org. A volunteer opening prayer will be at 5:30 a.m. Registration will open at 6:30 a.m. The silent auction begins at 7 a.m. and a shotgun starts the race at 8 a.m. Registration is $30 for a participant with no timing chip, $40 for a runner with a timing chip, and $35 for a sleep-in. All registration includes a T-shirt.

Pooch Pool Party

11 a.m.

New Leash on Life will partner with Nashville Shores on Saturday, September 21 for the Pooch Pool Party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the water park, 4001 Bell Road in Hermitage. Dogs will be able to swim in the wave pool. Proof of rabies vaccination is required. No humans are allowed to swim. The event will also include vendors, food and exhibitor booths. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Southern Smoke BBQ Festival in Mt. Juiet

The Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club will hold the third-annual Southern Smoke BBQ Festival on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. -- 5 p.m. The event includes vendors, a kid zone, live music and BBQ plates available for purchase. General admission is $5. Children 12 and under are free.

Lebanon High School Reunion -- Class of 1974

5 p.m.

The Lebanon High School Class of 1974 will hold its 45-year reunion on Saturday, September 28 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Five Oaks Golf and Country Club in Lebanon. Dress is business casual. The cost is $70 per person due by August 1.
