Special Needs Day at the annual Whip Crackin' Rodeo offers exceptional children a chance to explore during the special day set aside for them.
Mayor Philip Craighead and Lone Star Rodeo are putting the finishing touches on the 4th Annual Charity Whip Crackin' Rodeo and Outdoor Show. The two-day event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the James E. Ward Ag Center in Lebanon.

It was hugs all around as Lebanon Mayor Philip Craighead congratulates Middle Tennessee Girl Scouts for their successful food drive at the Stonebridge Community Center last weekend. The girls collected food and toiletries for students helped by the Family Resource Center of the Lebanon Special School District.
The recent Stonebridge Community backpack drive, in partnership with the Lebanon Special School District and Middle Tennessee Girl Scouts, will make sure local students have food and other essentials.

Cumberland University freshmen Tasha Woods and Kelsie Barnes look over clothes on the Big Red Bus on campus Tuesday. The bus is a rolling thrift store traveling from campus to campus throughout the region selling clothes and accepting donations. Money raised from the sales aids orphans around the world.
The big red bus was back on Cumberland University's campus Tuesday. The double decker was accompanied by hip music and young people making a difference. The bus is a mobile thrift store filled with students looking for bargains.

It turns out there are at least 85 superheroes in Wilson County. That many runners participated in the Superhero 5K Run to fight against child abuse Saturday.
