Merrol Hyde wipes out early MJ Christian lead

MT. JULIET — Merrol Hyde spotted Mt. Juliet Christian an early goal Thursday before dominating the Saints, at least on the scoreboard, 5-1.
"It was a lot closer than it showed," Mt. Juliet Christian coach Lloyd Sharp said after the Saints slpped to 4-3-1 for the season and 2-2-1 in District 8-A-AA. "We had a couple of mishandled balls by our keeper, who played very well otherwise.
"They're a good team. They're loaded with seniors and juniors. They're a very experienced team. And they're well coached."
Merrol Hyde outshot Mt. Juliet Christian 16-14.
Freshman Dylan Gammon gave Mt. Juliet Christian a 1-0 lead six minutes in off an assist from Deano Richards.
Merrol Hyde tied the score six minutes later and by halftime, the Hawks led 3-1.
