Carroll-Oakland's boys exceeded their scoring output of the first three quarters in the fourth Monday night as the Eagles soared past visiting Watertown 40-28.
Earlier, Carroll-Oakland's girls led from start to finish in a 37-17 victory.
The Eagles trailed 22-19 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring the Purple Tigers 21-6 to drop Watertown to 1-2.
Guard Dakota Reeves knocked down nine of his 15 points in the fourth quarter for Carroll-Oakland. Cody Yarbrough tossed in two three-pointers on his way to eight while Marty Bottoms finished with four; Patrick Dedman, Zach Hicks and Eli White three each and Justin Johnson and Cale Trisdale two apiece.
Andrew Jennings notched nine points for the Purple Tigers while Dustin Murphy scored six, Ethan Holden four, DeAnDre Bates three and Anthony Jordan, Cody Hamlet and William Fennell two each.
In the girls game, Carroll-Oakland led 17-8 following the first quarter, 21-13 at halftime and 26-15 through three periods as the Lady Eagles moved to 2-0.
Kayla Williams fired in 15 points from the post for Carroll-Oakland while Paige Porter scored seven, Nikki Hudson and Tori Brewington six each and Lacey Heller three.
The teams will get together in a rematch next Monday at Watertown with the girls tipping off at 6:30 p.m. But first, Carroll-Oakland will travel to Hartsville to take on Satterfield at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Carroll-Oakland's girls will also play in the Best of the West finals Saturday after dispatching host DeKalb West 34-12 last Thursday.
Williams led the Lady Eagles with 11 points while Hudson scored seven, Kayla Crowder five, Taylor Moss three; Porter, Brewington and Casey Teel two each and Heller and Shelby Leech a free throw apiece.
The Lady Eagles, who led 20-3 at halftime, will face Smith County for the championship Saturday.
Saints soar into West finals
LIBERTY — Southside's boys breezed into the Best of the (DeKalb) West finals Saturday with a 42-16 drubbing of DeKalb Middle in a battle of the Saints.
Southside led 7-0 following the first quarter and 19-4 at halftime as Coach Mike Presley's team moved into Saturday's final against Gordonsville. Game time is tentatively set for 4 p.m.
Case Sloan tossed in 10 points from the post for Southside while Aaron Simonis notched nine, Devin Fish eight, Nathan Corn seven, Clint Martin four and Nate Gilley and Dylan Snodgrass two each.
Justin France fired in 10 points from the wing for DeKalb.
