MJ freshmen win bowl, go 7-2

Mt. Juliet's freshmen beat Franklin County 40-6 in a bowl game at Columbia's Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Oct. 28 to finish a 7-2 season.
"At the start of the year this team needed a lot of learning of (varsity) Coach (Roger) Perry's system," Mt. Juliet coach Jay Earnhardt said. "We started with 40 kids at the beginning of the season and finished with 27.
"That shows you the hard work and dedication these boys have had. We were undersized all year on the line, but they kept getting better and better as the year wore on. This is a great bunch of freshmen."
