MJ's Cisneros named 4A All-State punter

Mt. Juliet senior Taylor Cisneros has been named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Class 4A All-State football team as a punter for the 2006 season.
Cisneros averaged 40.6 yards on 43 kicks as Mt. Juliet rallied from a slow start to reach the second round of the playoffs in Coach Roger Perry's first season. The senior put three punts inside the 20-yard line and had a long of 78 yards in the second round of the playoffs against Hillsboro.
"Taylor was the first one to buy into our program and what we were trying to do when I got here to Mt. Juliet," Perry said. "He has great leadership qualities and that added to the success we had this season as a football team.
"As a punter he was a tremendous asset to our team as he changed field position for us to win some very important regional games this season."
Cisneros was also the quarterback, passing for 1,279 yards and 11 touchdowns on 64-of-120, including a long of 94 yards.
