The 8-under Mt. Juliet Grizzlies All-Stars recently finished runner-up in the Silver Major Championship at the Mt. Juliet Rotary, which earned them an automatic bid to the Baseball Players Association World Series on July 15-20 in Chattanooga.

(Kimberly Jordan • Lebanon Democrat) The Eastern Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors hosted its first ice cream social Thursday. Candidates for a number of offices in the August election gathered at Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet. EMTAR’s Kathy O’Brien Streets said the social included a “best ice cream” contest and there were 52 entries among the 20-plus candidates.
It was an old-time “ice cream social,” where local politicians stumped for their offices and constituents had the chance to talk personally with potential and hopeful representatives.
