Churros with a Cop

Mt. Juliet police will celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day with Churros with a Cop on Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 7-9 a.m. at El Rey Azteca Mexican Restaurant at 1319 N. Mt. Juliet Road in Mt. Juliet. It will be an opportunity for citizens to speak with Chief James Hambrick and other officers in a casual atmosphere with free coffee.

 

Lebanon Coffee with a Cop

Lebanon police will celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day with Coffee with a Cop on Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 7-9 a.m. at J. Clayborn’s Bakery at 1021 W. Main St. in Lebanon. Police Chief Mike Justice and officers will be on hand to visit with community members.

 

Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency food giveaway

Wilson County Retired Teachers Association meeting

The Wilson County Retired Teachers Association will meet Thursday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Lebanon. The community project for the month is supplies for the Wilson County Schools’ At Risk program. The supplies needed are Crayola crayons, markers, colored pencils, children’s scissors, glue sticks, white 1-inch binders, wide-ruled paper and composition notebooks. Treasure Hunt 

7 a.m.

The Treasure Hunt will be Friday, Oct. 6 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 7 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Community parish at 14544 Lebanon Road in Mt. Juliet. The yard sale is the largest fundraiser of the year, which benefits the parish and the many charities sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary. It will feature furniture, kitchen items, books, movies, household items, linens, holiday decorations, luggage, toys, clothes and all shoes will be $1 a pair. Lunch and homemade baked goods will also be available.

 

Masquerade Jewelry and Accessories Fundraiser Sale

7 a.m.

Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon Volunteer Auxiliary will hold a masquerade $5 jewelry and accessories fundraising sale Thursday, Oct. 5 from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 6 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the hospital’s community cares classroom. The show will feature a wide variety of jewelry and accessories, all priced at $5. Profits from the sale will benefit patients and the local community.

No medical or infectious waste, explosives, ammunition, radioactive waste, including smoke detectors, or any empty containers will be accepted. Fiddlers Grove Model Train Club

The Fiddlers Grove Model Train Club will meet Thursday, Oct. 19 and each third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Fiddlers Grove Train Museum at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon. This is an all-scale model railroad club. During the meeting, everyone will share their knowledge and introduce the hobby to folks new to the interest. Healing Broken Vessels’ A Season of Elegance Fashion Show

Healing Broken Vessels will present its annual A Season of Elegance Fashion Show on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. at College Hills Church of Christ at 1401 Leeville Pike in Lebanon. This year’s theme is the bold and the beautiful. It will feature entertainment, food, a silent auction and door prizes. Admission will be $20 per person. Healing Broken Vessels is a ministry that helps women and children in Wilson County. 

 

Lebanon Breakfast Rotary Club Fish Fry and Aviation Heritage Day

Spooky Stroll will be Sunday, Oct. 22 from 4-8 p.m. at the Wilson County Fairgrounds. A $35 ticket will include admission for one adult and two children 12 and younger, a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt, a pumpkin for the first 500, a meeting and photo opportunity with favorite princesses, a Halloween outdoor movie classic on a 34-foot screen, popcorn, 10 ounces of fresh apple cider, hay bale dance party, bluegrass picking band and professional jugglers. It will also feature trick-or-treating goodies and other entertainment.

Trunk or Treat

The annual trunk or treat will be Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Life Assembly at 555 Pleasant Grove Road in Mt. Juliet. It will feature safe trick or treating for children, Mt. Juliet police with their Hummer, a costume contest for children, an outdoor movie on an 108-inch screen and Jet’s Pizza.

Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto will lead a discussion about what’s going on in Wilson County on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 8:30-10 a.m. at the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce office.

Taste of Wilson County

The annual Taste of Wilson County, featuring Batch and Bushel, will be Thursday, Oct. 26 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Mill in Lebanon. Tickets are $35 for VIP, $25 for adults 12 and older, $10 for teachers, $8 for children 5 and younger, and children younger than 5 will be admitted free. Ghosts and Goblets

The Ghosts and Goblets fundraiser will be Friday, Oct. 27 from 7-10 p.m. in Cumberland University’s Baird Chapel. Natalie Inman and Rick Bell, Cumberland history professors, will lead the campus ghost tours, which will include several surprises. The event will also include a heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert buffet, along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Wilson County 44th annual Gospel Music Fest

6:30 p.m.

The 44th annual Wilson County Gospel Music Fest will be Saturday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre in Lebanon. The event will feature Michael Helwig with the Blackwood Brothers, the Masters Four, Commonwealth Quartet, the Harmoneers and the Immanuel Baptist Church choir. Tickets are $15 each or $12 each for a group of four of more in advance. Tickets are available at Century 21 West Main Realty in Lebanon and at CedarStone Bank locations in Lebanon and Mt. Juliet.
