Elizabeth Leutner Adams
Services for Ms. Adams will be 3 p.m. Oct. 11 at Praise Church in Leesville, S.C. with the Rev. Tom Mims officiating. Interment will be in Stevens Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Edgefield, S.C. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home in Batesburg-Leesville, S.C.
Ms. Adams, 87, of Chapin, S.C., passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009. She was born in Germany, daughter of the late Karl J. Leutner and Emilie Fritz Leutner. She was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C. She was the widow of the late James W. Adams. She had worked as a teacher assistant for Overbrook Elementary School in Greenville, S.C.
She was preceded in death by brother, Karl R. Leutner and sister, Emilie Leutner Rosales.
Survivors include: sons, James G. (Cheri) Adams of Houston, Texas, Joseph H. (Kristi) Adams of Lebanon and Douglas S. Adams of Taylors, S.C.; daughters, Linda Adams (John) Steele of Chapin, S.C., Esther Adams (Tom) Mims of Leesville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Milton Shealy Funeral Home of Batesburg-Leesville, S.C. is assisting the family with arrangements.
John Wright Frost
Services for Mr. Frost were held Monday, Oct. 5 at Pafford Funeral Home with Bros. Bobby McCord and Micah Renfroe officiating. Interment with military honors was in Mt. Ararat Cemetery.
Mr. Frost, 85, of Darden, Tenn. died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009. He was born in Bedford County, Tenn. to the late Carl and Lillis Stone Frost. He was a combat wounded World War II veteran serving as a tank commander in the European Theatre. He retired after serving as Darden postmaster for 24 years. He was owner of Frost Grocery. He served as deacon at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by twin sisters, Mary Ann Tomlinson and Sarah Boone Prather.
Survivors include: wife of 61 years, Norsie Tolley Frost of Darden; sons, Martin Wright (Anne) Frost of Lebanon and Charles William (Becky) Frost of Bolivar; daughter, Nancy Frost Cavness of Wildersville; grandchildren, Lela (Mark) Wiggins of Mt. Juliet, John (Victoria) Frost of Hendersonville, Rachel (Doug) Dixon of San Antonio, Texas, Phillip (Brandi) Frost of Walton, Ky., Suzanne (Jamie) Mosley of Nashville, Carl Frost of Jackson, Cara (Tim) Essary of Cedar Grove, John (Amber) Cavness and Kendra (Steven) Camper all of Wildersville, Myra (James) Krenis of Jackson and Russell (Lena) Cavness of Beech Bluff; and great-grandchildren, Joah, Kate, Luke, Morgan, Madeline, Alex, Samuel, Nolan, John Martin, William, T.J., Jake, Caitlyn, Eli, Johnathan, Presley, Kendall, Jack, Alexis and Reanna.
Billy Joe Hill
Services for Mr. Hill will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Bro. Willard Wells and Gena Barbre officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and noon until the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Hill, 71, of Lebanon, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 at StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna. He was a retired sales representative for CAO International and a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jessie Milton and Aleene Smith Baskin Hill. Survivors include wife, Joyce Hill of Smyrna; son, James (Sandra “Dale”) Hill of Murfreesboro; daughter, Lisa(Raymond) Jones of Smyrna; grandchildren, B.J. Smith and George and Beth Hill; great grandchildren, Destiny, Kane and Hunter Smith; numerous neices, nephews and cousins.
