Clara Bell Manning
Services for Mrs. Manning will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Manning officiating and the Rev. Jackie Dillehay assisting. Interment will be in Poplar Hill. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday, Oct 19. and from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Mrs. Manning, 100, passed away on Oct. 17, 2009, at Smith County Health Care in Carthage. She was a homemaker. She attended school at Poplar Hill and Tuckers Crossroads and was a 75-year member of Grant Missionary Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Willie Vantrease Midgett; sister, Anna Mai Vantrease; brother, Earl Clayton Midgett; husband, Tafford Olin Manning.
Survivors include:  sons, Dorris (Louise) Manning of Watertown and Kenneth (Jane) Manning of Brush Creek; grandchildren, Mark Manning of Michigan; Karen Bowers of Defiance, Ohio; Jennifer Adams of Brush Creek, Timothy Manning of Milford Center, Ohio; Samuel Manning of Marshall, Texas; Tina Buck of Smyrna; Kelly Manning of Gordonsville; Christy Dillehay of Defeated and Joe Skelton of Carthage; 20 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Deborah Clay Tripp
Visitation for Mrs. Tripp will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Jacksonville, Fla., beside her late husband, the Rev. James Isaac Tripp.
Mrs. Tripp, 72, of Nashville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Josette Sands Taylor.
Survivors include:  son, Earl Matthew (Anna Marie) Sands; son-in-law, Kirk Taylor; sister, Mildred Shearer; sister-in-law, Anne Nicholson; grandchildren, Maddie Sands, Haly Taylor and Dylan Burke.
