Judges praise abilities of three fired employees
Sept. 2, 2010 – Two of Wilson County's three General Sessions judges have issued a news release praising the job performances of three of the deputy clerks dismissed by Circuit Court Clerk Linda Neal on Tuesday.

Judges Barry Tatum and Robert Hamilton said, "Mrs. [Susan] Gregory, Mrs. [Felicia] Hale and Ms. [Michelle] Lewis … were proficient, dedicated and more than willing and able to serve our courts, the litigants, the attorneys and thus the citizens of Wilson County."

Watertown OKs 2010-2011 budget on first reading
Aug. 31, 2010 – The Watertown City Council unanimously passed its budget for fiscal 2010-11 last night on first reading.

Mayor Mike Jennings said it was a "status quo" budget except it does call for a 25-cent pay increase for all employees, both full and part-time.

Barry to offer new animal ordinance wording
Aug. 31, 2010 – Ward 5 Councilor Haywood Barry believes a proposed rewording of the animal control ordinance vetoed by Mayor Philip Craighead last week should satisfy citizen complaints.

He also believes his wording should satisfy District Attorney General Tommy Thompson's concern that the ordinance as written would be unenforceable.
