James Herschel Mullins
Services for Mr. Mullins will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Bro. Herb Alsup and Bro. Marion West officiating. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at the funeral home.
Mr. Mullins, 96, of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012. He was a native of Rutherford Co. and was the son of the late Charles Herbert and Ollie Haithcock Mullins. He was a member of Florence Road Church of Christ where he served as an Elder. He was founder of Mullins Jewelry in Murfreesboro which began in 1938. Trained as a watch maker, he expanded his business into a full service jewelry store, and with help of his family remained open until 2010. He served at Sky Harbor and Sewart Air Force Base as an Aircraft Instrument repairman during World War II. He was a member of the Florence Historical Society.
He was preceded in death by: parents; and wife, Mildred Alsup Mullins.
Survivors include: sons, Charles Robert (Charlene) and James Alsup (Margie) Mullins, both of Murfreesboro and Thurman Glenn (Ann) Mullins of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jeff (Kim) Mullins of Murfreesboro, Tim (Shelley) Mullins of Smyrna, Kathy Mullins (Jimmy) Oxley of Lebanon, Michael Mullins of Nashville, Michelle (Bobby) Romano of Oyster Bay, N.Y., Jeremy Mullins of Orlando, Fla., Melanie (Rob) Williams of Lebanon, Jennifer (Guy) Graves of Mt. Juliet and Amanda (Michael) Marvin of Murfreesboro; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Florence Road Church of Christ, the Gladeville Church of Christ and Odyssey Hospice in memory of Mr. Mullins.
Barbara LaVerne 'Bobbie' Sanders
Services for Mrs. Sanders will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bruce Lowhorn officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery in Norene. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 and 9 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sanders, 82, died Monday, July 16, 2012. She was a member of the Baptist faith, a special education teachers aid with Coles Ferry Elementary School and owner of Allen’s Market.
She was preceded in death by: parents, William Benjamin and Ruth Elizabeth Vincent Webb; sisters, Jean Williams, Shirley Ann Webb and Betty Jo Kessler.
Survivors include: husband of 61 years, Bobby W. Sanders Sr.; son, Bobby W. (Tina) Sanders Jr.; daughters, Sherry (Tony) Haines, Vicki (Don) Pugh and Jody (John) Glenn; brother, Dr. Johnny (Betsy) Webb; sisters, Peggy Fields, Jackie Smith and Faye (Robert) Bright; grandchildren, Tony (Valerie) Haines Jr., Scott Haines, Kevin Haines, Chaya (Nathan) Foster, Lynsey Pugh and Jarah Glenn; great-grandchildren, Elijah Foster and Kamryn Haines; friend and caregiver, Tina (Gordon) Dobbins; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Family will serve as Pallbearers.
