Deputies charged two Wilson County men with theft Wednesday following sheriff's investigators wrap of a probe into the case, according to Lt. Ricky Knight.
Troy K. Neal, 59, of Lebanon, was charged with one county of theft of property greater than $1,000, and Mitchell R. Bradford, Jr., 35, of Mt. Juliet, was charged with one count of theft of property greater than $1,000 and one count of theft of property greater than $500, according to Knight.
“Cpl. Billy King was on patrol when he recovered a stolen trailer and a Jeep reported stolen from a victim on Hartsville Pike,” said Knight.
King found the vehicles in a scrap yard on Canesville Road, and he matched the VINs with those of vehicles previously reported stolen, said Knight.
The investigation also led to the recovery of a camper trailer reported stolen from Smith County, said Knight.
Detectives identified Bradford and Neal through sales records from the scrap yard.
“They have a history with the Sheriff’s Office on cases similar to what they’re charged with,” said Knight.
Bradford and Neal both remained Thursday in the Wilson County Jail on $9,500 and $3,000 bonds, respectively.
