Mary Jane Beard
Services for Mrs. Beard will be noon Saturday, Dec. 15 at Neuble Monument Funeral Home LLC with the Rev. Jeffrey Huddleston officiating. She will lie in state Friday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Mrs. Beard was born to the late John E. and Minnie Kirkendoll on Dec. 22, 1941 in Lebanon. She departed this life on Dec. 7, 2012 at Skyline Alive Hospice in Madison. Mary Jane received her education from Wilson County High School. She was a faithful member of Dowell Chapel United Methodist Church in Watertown.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother, Robert Dave Kirkendoll.
She leaves to cherish her husband of 49 years, Wallace Reed Beard; three children: Ramona Beard, Winston (April) Beard and Belinda Beard of Watertown; one sister: Mattie Carter of Watertown; one brother: John Ed Kirkendoll of Elyria, Ohio; four grandchildren: Blake Beard, Audrey Beard, Victoria Manning and Seth Beard of Watertown; one aunt: Maggie Francis of Chicago, Ill.; one uncle: Andrew Burns of Lebanon; three brothers-in-law: Joe Beard of Delaware, Ohio, William T. Beard of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Readore Parson of Nashville; sisters-in-law: Mary Helen Kirkendoll of Lebanon, Rose Simms of Arlington, Texas, and sister-in-law/ classmate Georgia Wooten of LaMarque, Texas. Mary Jane leaves to cherish a host of devoted nieces and nephews, and four god-grandchildren: Jasmine Pillow, Tiandria Redd, Maliyah Carter and Dacio Carter.
Also she leaves a special neighbor, Mary Douglas; devoted cousins: Peggy Bailey, Mary Huddleston, Earl Dirkson, Mary Lee (Fred) Hunter and Robert Dockins; devoted friends: Dorth Ann Seay, Christine Wright, Nellene Horton, Paulette King, Gwen Bell, John Roy and Janie Carter and the entire Dowell Chapel United Methodist Church Family.
Joe Leonard Marlar
Funeral services for Mr. Marlar will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Simpson officiating. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. till service time Thursday. Interment with military honors at Jones Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Marlar, 62, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at his Alexandria residence. Born in Shreveport, La., he was preceded in death by his father, Owens Miles Marlar; mother, Erna Virginia Henry; stepfather, Herbert James Henry, Sr; sister, Joyce Elaine Laux and brother, Nathan Bruce Henry. Joe was a truck driver and U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Joe is survived by his sons, Jason (Jeannie) Marlar of Alexandria and Nick (Kendra Lott) Marlar of Carthage; grandchildren, Jadon Marlar, Jared Marlar, Jamison Marlar, Miranda Marlar, Nixon Marlar, Gabrielle Lott Fisher; sisters, Melinda (Thomas) Harrison of Watertown and Virginia Marie (Johnny) Smith of Lebanon; brother, Herbert James "Jim" (Kim) Henry Jr. of Lebanon; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Stanley C. Ruth
Funeral services for Mr. Ruth are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Church of the Epiphany, 1500 Hickory Ridge Road, Lebanon, with the Rev. Kira Schlesinger officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, Tenn. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday after 10 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
Mr. Ruth, 91 of Lebanon passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Elmcroft. Born Oct. 26, 1921, in Cedars, Pa., he was the son of the late Linford and Elsie Craft Ruth. He was an Army veteran having served during World War II and the Korean War. He worked many years as a terminal manager in the transportation industry. He was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Lebanon.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Shelby Ruth; and a cousin, James Wood of Doylestown, Pa.
Visitation for Mr. Waters will be Saturday from 11-11:55 a.m. at First Baptist Church 227 East Main St, Lebanon. Funeral services will follow at noon. Pastor Sean Kennedy, Eulogist; Minister Alton Pickett, Jr.
Interment, Wilson Co. Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Waters, 79, of Lebanon, died Dec. 10, 2012 at University Medical Center.
He is survived by wife, Carolyn Manning Waters; daughters, Delores (Michael) Green, Teresa Scruggs and Daphne Waters; sons, William Leslie, Ronnie C. and Rodney Waters; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; one aunt, Rebecca Overall; three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law; and a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Franklin D. Ragno
Mr. Ragno, 71, of Hermitage, died Dec. 10, 2012.
Services for Mr. Ragno will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment will be in New York. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service.
