At last year's Move Across Wilson event, participants were encouraged to get moving by walking, running, lifting weights or anything else that would get them off the couch.

Encouraging everyone, especially children, to get active is what Move Across Wilson is all about. Pictured, children take off in a race at last year's event in Mt. Juliet.

Wilson County Health Council is once again gearing up to help people fight battle of the bulge.

The time is approaching to kick off the second annual Move Across Wilson, a 10-week program that encourages individuals and families to participate in any kind of physical activity for a minimum of 30 minutes a day, five days a week for their health.

The program is a partnership with Wilson County Health Council Go Johnny Go Foundation. Last year during the inaugural event, there were three kick-off events in Watertown, Lebanon and Mt. Juliet. This year, the effort is pared down to one large event in Mt. Juliet.
