The Saints won the championship with a 10-0 triumph over West Wilson last Saturday, scoring nine times on as many hits in the bottom of the first inning.

Southside starter Cole McCorkle allowed just three hits over five innings.

The Saints edged Brentwood Academy 6-5 earlier Saturday and host Mt. Juliet 6-1 to reach the final.

Left-hander Tristan Warden pitched 4 1/3 innings against Brentwood Academy, striking out six, for the win. Nick Sanders and Mason Mobley managed two hits apiece.

Ethan Shelton held Mt. Juliet to two hits and a run over six innings. Chase Ford led the offense by going 3-for-3 with two runs scored.

Southside split two pool games last Wednesday, knocking off the Nashville Monarchs 11-2 before losing to Siegel 5-2 to earn the No. 3 seed for Saturday's single-elimination round.

For the tournament, Shelton had eight hits, five runs, a win, a save, 8 2/3 innings pitched with three hits and a run allowed. Ford scored seven runs and had seven hits while Sanders supplied six hits and six runs.
