Friendship Christian scored in every inning Thursday while Brennan Swindoll held Watertown to a pair of singles in a 10-0 triumph at Cumberland's Woody Hunt  Stadium/Ernest L. Stockton Field.

Swindoll allowed singles by Ben Bain and Robert Caruthers while striking out seven and walking none as the Commanders climbed to 21-5 for the season and a final 8-0 in District 8-A, clinching a berth in next month's Region 4-A tournament for FCS.

Friendship finished with eight hits as the Commanders built a 6-0 lead through three innings against left-hander Colin Jennings, capped by a three-run homer over the left-field wall by No. 9 batter Cale Mitchell.

Hunter Watts, Michael Hawks and Gunner Osborne each had an RBI single while Tanner Martin managed a double. Swindoll supplied two singles and Austin Godwin one.

Friendship will play host to Antioch at 7 p.m. tonight.

Haley, Central shut out Smith County

GLADEVILLE — Cody Haley pitched a shutout for six innings Thursday as Wilson Central blanked visiting Smith County 5-0.

Hailey scattered four hits [the Owls finished with five] while striking out nine as the Wildcats climbed to 17-10-1 for the season.

Central scored all its runs in the fourth and fifth innings. A.J. Franklin doubled as he and Jared Williams each drove in two runs on two hits. Dalton McCorkle also collected a pair of hits, scored twice and picked up an RBI. Jake Lefler tripled.

The Wildcats are scheduled to travel to Clarksville tonight for a 6 p.m. game.
