Martha Dismukes

Katie Searcy Bland

Ms. Bland, 98, died Thursday in Lebanon.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Visitation will be Monday from 9-11 a.m. Interment will be in Shelbyville.

James "Jim B." Burlison

The family of Mr. Burlison will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon (at Stone Mansion, 416 Rome Pike) on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday from noon until the service. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery immediately following the service.

Mr. Burlison, 71, passed away on May 1, 2013.

Mr. Burlison is survived by wife, Maria Burlison; children, Mike Burlison, Joey Burlison and Michelle Richardson; siblings, Bobby Jean Morgan, Barbara Devol, Vivian Akins, Dorthy Tippens, Denver Burlison and Joyce Murcer; grandchildren, Selena Christian, Shana Watson, Michael Burlison II, Jenna Holloway, Amanda Burlison, Ashley Burlison, David Richardson, James “Bo” Burlison, and Josh Burlison; and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by son James “Jimbo” Burlison; parents, Amos and Flossie West Burlison; and brother, Donald Burlison.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Martha Wilson Cooksey Dismukes

A graveside service for Mrs. Dismukes will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 6 in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach with Dr. Fred Foy Strang, Chaplain, King University, Bristol, Tenn. officiating.

Mrs. Dismukes, 92, widow of Bradley Lee Dismukes, died peacefully on April 30, 2013 with her son by her side.

The middle child of three she was born in Lebanon on Oct. 7, 1920 she lived there most of her life, before moving to Vero Beach, Fla. in 1974.

Mrs. Dismukes graduated from Sullins College and the University of Tennessee, doing graduate work at Middle Tennessee State University, and Western North Carolina State University. She was a librarian at Middle 7 School, Gifford, Fla. for 10 years.

A member of First Presbyterian Church, she was active in many phases of the church programs in both Tennessee and Vero Beach, serving as librarian, deacon, elder, clerk of sessions and served on various committees.

She is survived by her son, Bradley Stanton Dismukes of Kenansville, Fla. and Wartrace, Tenn.; her daughter, Mary Linda Miranda of Sebastian, Fla.; three granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Dismukes was preceded in death by her brother, Bascom Cooksey Jr. and sister, Burnita Hudgins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.

Jean Carol Haines

Mrs. Haines, 76, of Mt. Juliet, died Wednesday.

Services are Sunday at 6 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Visitation is Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Interment will follow in Wright Cemetery in Mt. Juliet.

Armstead Squire Robinson

Mr. Robinson, 81, of Mt. Juliet died Tuesday.

No services are scheduled. Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet is in charge of arrangements.

Luis Vega

Mr. Vega, 45, of Old Hickory, died Tuesday.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1004 Woodridge Place in Mt. Juliet. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet.

Charles Henry “Chuck” Worthington Jr.

Mr. Worthington, 46, of Mt. Juliet, died Wednesday.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m.  at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
