WATERTOWN – The Veloteers Bicycle Club, Historic Watertown and title sponsor Austermiller Roofing are pleased to announce the 10th annual Big Hill Challenge at Watertown on June 15.
Cyclists of all ages and ability levels are invited to enjoy one of four scenic routes through the Middle Tennessee countryside.
The ride will benefit the Veloteers Bicycle Club of Wilson Co., a 501c4 non-profit, by furthering the mission statement through grant funding in the community: bike racks at schools, advocacy and education administration, greenway development and high school mountain-biking programs to name a few. It also benefits our partner, Historic Watertown, Inc, a 501c3 non-profit, through restoration funds.
All rides will be fully supported by professional bicycle mechanics and rolling support and gear teams. Numerous rest stops will be positioned along all routes to keep riders fueled and hydrated. All pre-registered riders will receive a commemorative t-shirt and event packet. After the ride, participants are invited to enjoy a hearty pasta dinner while relaxing with fellow cyclists in beautiful downtown Watertown.
This annual event is quickly becoming a favorite among Middle Tennessee bicyclists, as it offers both a great ride experience and excellent training for the ride other early-season rides. The 10th anniversary of this event introduces new routes on the metric and century rides.
Sign-ins will begin at 6 a.m. at Watertown High School, located at 515 W. Main Street. All rides will start at 7 on the town square. Advance registration through June 9 is $30; June 10th to day-of registration is $40. Online registration ends June 13 at 9 p.m. To register, or for more information, go to www.bighillchallenge.com.
