Cumberland shortstop Cory Urquhart was named to the 2013 Rawlings-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team this week, as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (NAIA-BCA) All-America selection committee.

The Yakima, Wash., native just finished his senior season with the Bulldogs, committing 11 errors in 286 chances in 2013, including 185 assists. Urquhart becomes the third CU player honored with the Gold Glove, including Shane Tipton in 1993 and Victor Alvarez in 2006.

Urquhart was an exceptional defender in his two seasons at CU, posting a .956 fielding percentage in his career and committing 23 errors in 525 total chances. In two years he collected 144 hits with 17 doubles and 60 RBIs in 119 contests, scoring 99 runs with 62 walks. He ranks tied for 28th in career hits and tied for 15th in at-bats (459).
