Ada Poff Holliday
Memorial services for Mrs. Holliday will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Hermitage United Methodist Church Fellowship Building. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until the service Sunday at the church.
Mrs. Holliday, 96, of Old Hickory and Lebanon, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007. She was a charter member of Bethany Christian Church and worked as an inspector at Roanoke Box Company.
She was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Berchie Poff; and husband, Albert Holliday. Survivors include: daughter, Judith (Louis) Alverides; grandchildren, Teresa and Gregory (Jana) Alverides and Dana Sowell; great-grandchildren, Louis and Chelsea Alverides and Samantha and Sabrina Sowell; sisters, Almeda Bohon and Perdine Manning; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice or Hearthside at Castle Heights Assisted Living.
Services for Mrs. Stanton will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with the Rev. T.J. Bennett. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stanton, 92, of Baxter, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at NHC Cookeville. She was a homemaker and attended Baxter United Methodist and Pleasant Grove Methodist.
She was preceded in death by parents, Oliver and Ova Fakes Dawes; husband, Willard Stanton; daughter-in-law, Juie Stanton; sisters, Bonnie Pulley and Mabel Byrd; and brothers, Dennis and Bill Dawes. Survivors include: sons, Jimmy Stanton of Baxter and Eddie (Donna) Stanton of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott and Jason Stanton, Suzie Fancher and Jena Buckler; and great-grandchildren, Josh, Christopher, Todd, Tucker and Ty Stanton, Lee, Champ, Anthony and Rance Buckler and Gavin Fancher.
