Gladys Lucille Bates

There are no services scheduled for Mrs. Bates at this time. Mrs. Bates, 89, of Lebanon, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007.

Survivors include: daughters, Leslie (Don) Holiman of Lebanon, and Karen (John) Bigger of Nevada; grandchildren, Lonnie (Tracy) Marsh, Erin Holiman and Joel (Kelly) and Ryan Bigger; and great-grandchildren, Shelby Holiman, Faith Johnson, Sydney and Olivia Bigger and Cassidy Marsh.

Wilson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William H. “Bubba” Bay

Services for Mr. Bay will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23 at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon with Bros. Rob Amason and Danny Sellars officiating. Internment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bay, 57, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007. He was preceded in death by infant son Christopher Shane Bay; father Earl Bay; and grandparens Earl T.and Edna Moore Bay, and William Buford and Annie Benton Shelton.

Survivors include: mother Mary Ann Bay of Lebanon; children Angie (Dave) Rochelle of Nashville and Kristen Bay of Lebanon; siblings Annie Maria Clemmons of Cross Plains, Mary Edna (Jerry Shears) Bay of Lebanon, Ed (Tammy) Bay of Bedford, Ind. and Gail (Tommy) Hart of Smith County; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Melvin Paulk, Bobby Loper, David Rochelle, Melvin Neal, Tommy Hart, Michael Clemmons, Caleb Bay and Christ Bay.

Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers at Sonoco, Steve Shelton and Bob Shelton.

Paul J. Burton

Services for Mr. Burton will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24 at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Grooms officiating. Interment will be held at noon in Crestlawn Cemetery in Cookeville. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday and and 9 a.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Burton, 74, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 in Sebring, Fla. He was a member of Highland Heights Church of Christ and a retired supervisor with General Motors.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lem and Mandy Minnear Burton; wife, Frances Burton; and brother, Ralph Burton. Survivors include: wife, Faye Cummings Burton; sons, Steve (Gail) and Ken (Barbara) Burton; step-daughters, Dawn Thorton, Lisa (Matt) Burke and Michelle Correnti; brothers, Fred (Phyllis) and Jeff (Wanda) Burton; sisters, Betty Tinch, Pauline Kirby and Ellen Benward.

Hilda Faye Highers

Memorial services for Mrs. Highers will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23 at Grant Baptist Church with the Rev. Perry Parker officiating.

Mrs. Highers, 65, of Mt. Juliet, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007.

She was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Lallie Hall Highers; brothers, William, Raymond, Howard, Hatton and Alton Highers; and sisters, Allyne Barnes and Betty Enoch. Survivors include: children, Jeffrey Highers and Kendra (Scott) Garrett; grandchildren, Kendall Paige and Cameron Blake Parker; and sisters, Mary McCaleb, Ruth (Ken) Odom and Dena Baker.

Terry G. Smith

No services are scheduled for Mr. Smith, the family has chosen cremation.

Mr. Smith, 51, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007.

He was preceded in death by grandmother, Alty J. Coons. Survivors include: wife, Donna Smith; son, Joey Cash; grandson, Tommy Cash; brothers, Earl Coons and Gary and Larry Smith; sister, Carla Smith; and nephews, Brian, Ryan and Michael.
